Adopting from Feline Care
We've tried to make our adoption process as quick and easy as possible for you and our small team.
Please read the following information then click the link to complete our Adoption Application form.
Every cat you adopt from any rescue organisation makes space to help the next cat in need. Adopters are absolutely saving lives, thank you!
Due to limited time we are not able to display all of our cats currently looking for homes, but here’s who is most desperately looking for their forever home right now:
Lady Poo Shoes
Age:
Old as the hills (16+ years)
Personality / needs / history:
Found as a stray and now looking for palliative care home for the limited time she has left.
Needs a calm home as her world no longer needs to move fast. Loves strokes and a groom though and enjoys lap time, cuddles and following you wherever you go!
Would like a secure garden to catch the sun rays in.
Loves 6+ small meals a day so would suit a WFH position for her retirement.
Health status:
Diabetic on oral medication daily and supplements.
Potential lymphoma / cancer.
Sheldon
Age:
Born in March 2010, just over 16 years old
Personality / needs / history:
Found as a stray and handed in to his local vets.
Microchip details long out of date, registered to a home in Yorkshire.
Huge cuddle lover, he hasn't got bored of them with us yet.
Very tidy and lovely chap, we can't believe someone could lose him and not be hunting high and low for him.
Health status:
Diagnosed hyperthyroid, on daily medication.
Information about adoption
Thank you for considering adopting. Taking on a new animal can have its problems, so please listen to our advice, and if you have any questions please feel free to ask.
The following information below is very important when considering adoption:
-
The cat/s or kitten/s must be for YOU and NOT for any other person.
-
All potential owners must be 'homechecked' to ensure you and the cat you have chosen are suitable for each other.
-
We have a suggested donation policy for each of our cats. If you cannot afford a donation then you must question your ability to care for your cat properly. The donation we suggest is minimal compared to the cost of good quality food and routine veterinary care, so if you cannot afford it we would rather you did not have a pet.
-
You must be able to afford private vet bills and not use other charities such as The PDSA.
-
Without your donation we cannot continue to help the thousands of animals abused, unloved and unwanted every year. This centre is run almost entirely by volunteers and we rely on the generosity of our supporters. PLEASE GIVE WHAT YOU CAN!
-
As the neutering of cats is such a large part of reducing the numbers of unwanted animals please note WE WILL NOT REHOME WITH YOU IF YOU HAVE A CAT OVER 4 MONTHS OLD THAT HAS NOT BEEN NEUTERED.
-
All cats/kittens will have had a minimum of their first vaccination and will have been routinely treated for fleas and worms.
-
All our cats are microchipped before leaving the centre. This is to ensure their future safety and for our peace of mind.
-
We now no longer rehome kittens pre-neutering unless under veterinary advice.
